A countdown widget for the days that matter
Put the number of days until your trip, your exam or your wedding where you'll see it a hundred times a day. WidgetAim counts down on your Home Screen and Lock Screen, and reminds you before the day arrives.
What you can count down to
- Trips and holidays“Lisbon in 60 days.” A flight scene moves along its route as the day gets closer.
- Exams and deadlinesThe thesis hand-in, the driving test, a product launch. Pair it with a flashcard deck for the exam itself.
- Birthdays, weddings and anniversariesThe day you're waiting for, on the Lock Screen beside the clock.
- Races and events“Marathon on April 12”, with a tear-off calendar that loses a page each day.
- Days sincePick a past date and it counts up instead: days since you quit smoking, started a new job or moved in. A candle scene burns on, quietly.
Set one up in under a minute
- Open WidgetAim and tap New, then pick Countdown.
- Give it a name and a date. Choose a scene, a style and a typeface in the Widget Studio, where every option is a live preview.
- Add the widget to your Home Screen or Lock Screen. Your countdown has a number, like Aim 1, so you'll find it at a glance in the widget gallery. Step-by-step help is in the guide to adding widgets on iPhone.
With WidgetAim Pro you can type it as a sentence instead, like “Japan trip on March 14”, and the app sets up the widget for you. You can also link a countdown to an event in your Calendar, so it moves if the event moves.
Reminders, so the day never sneaks up on you
A countdown can remind you a week before, the day before and on the day, at a time you pick. That's enough to book the taxi, buy the gift or do one last revision, without a stream of daily alerts. Reminders are part of the free plan and are set up on your iPhone, with no account and no server in between. You can change or turn them off from the countdown's page in the app.
On the Home Screen, the Lock Screen and your wrist
Home Screen widgets come in small, medium and large, and extra-large on iOS 27. Lock Screen widgets show the days left beside the clock or under it. The Apple Watch app has complications, so the count can sit on your watch face too: your first aim on the free plan, every aim with Pro.
Like every WidgetAim scene, the countdown animates once when the number changes and then rests. Nothing loops in the background, so it costs no more battery than a still widget.
Make it look like yours
The Widget Studio previews 28 styles, your own colors, six typefaces and four layouts. The free plan includes 8 styles, 2 typefaces, 2 layouts and a scene for every kind of widget. Pro unlocks the rest, including a scene made from your own photo with the count on top: the beach you're flying to, or the two of you.
